Welcome to the Athlete Career Programme

Officially launched in 2005 by the International Olympic Committee and Adecco, the Athlete Career Programme (ACP) has helped more than 2,000 athletes prepare for a career after competitive sports. ACP was developed with the vision to enhance the lives of elite and Olympic athletes by providing them with Career Transition, Career Development and Job Placement support.

The origins of the ACP date back to 2002, when the 1st International Athletes' Sports Forum raised the issue of the difficulties athletes face in the transition to working life beyond competitive sports. ACP does not remove the challenge, yet it does provide athletes with practical career development and the job placement support of Adecco, the world's largest and most successful employment services group. The purpose of the programme is to support the athletes' integration into the workplace both during and after their sporting careers without compromising their sporting dreams.

As the global leader in human resource solutions, the Adecco Group of companies have access to the latest information and trends directly impacting any profession, business or industry which the athletes may be interested in.

Since the launch, 19 National Olympic Committees have signed an agreement with Adecco and there is also an agreement in place with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
