Programme Overview

For many elite athletes, beginning a job search outside of sports may seem like a daunting task. Beyond the emotional impact, you may have questions such as:

• What do I want to do after my sporting career is over?
• What do I need to do to get the right job?
• Where do I start searching for employment?
• What skills do I have?

Or if you are still playing elite level sports;

• What job will complement my training schedule?
• What work experience can I get that will help me when I retire from sports?

The IOC Athlete Career Programme (ACP) will help you find answers to these questions. You will learn information and techniques to make the transition from the sporting world to the work-place and be taught career management skills you can use throughout your work-place career.

IOC ACP is fully flexible in relation to services offered and can be tailored specifically to meet the needs of different athletes with varied backgrounds, competition requirements and training schedules.

Adecco understands the importance for athletes to feel comfortable with their workplace skills and ability to interact within a business environment.

The IOC Athlete Career Programme covers key requirements for athletes including:

• Career Counselling
• Resume Writing Skills
• Interviewing Skills
• Online Assessment & Training
• Mentoring Support

The programme is available to elite athletes who are training for or participated in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games & SEA Games.

The IOC ACP is offered at no cost to the elite athletes and is part of the Adecco Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
